John Irving

Top 5 John Irving books:

1. The Cider House Rules
2. The World According to Garp
3. The Hotel New Hampshire
4. A Prayer for Owen Meany
5. Not sure... A Widow for One Year? There's a gap between those four books and the ones that came after and that never quite reach the same heights.

  1. Never read his books, what kind of atmosphere is it ? I'm always looking for a mind blowing books. If you don't know, you should read Julien Gracq books.

  3. Irving is influenced by Charles Dickens, and his books often have that same structure, where we follow characters from childhood to adulthood, so when you close the book in the end, it's like saying good bye to old friends. Check out one of his books, I don't think you'll regret it.
    Will look for Julien Gracq.

  5. I was a bit disappointed by Until I Find You. It's okay, but you hope that a book by John Irving will be more then that.
