Thanks, Dom! Sorry, I'm not that crazy about doing interviews on tape, my voice forever captured on the internet somewhere. Just the thought gives me the heebie-jeebies.
Disembodied voices are ghostly, true, but listening to someone you admire from the past is fascinating too.
I'm very sorry no record of Orwell's voice exists, despite the fact that he spent the whole WW2 doing radio broadcasts...
Same with photographs. If I had a time machine, first I'd shoot Hitler, then I'd become a time-photojournalist, taking pictures of all kinds of interesting people from the time before photography was invented...
I consider the writers of Orwell's generation the lucky ones. They didn't have to do all the interviews and pr stuff. Their books are still there, maybe even their diaries or letters. What more do you need?
That's my tattoo! Is that the photo Matt took the other day? I'm sorry I was far too nervous to ever send a picture to you directly :( http://thesecretheadquarters.com/stuff-we-love/new-tattoo/
Congratulation to all of you. It is very nice blog site. This is my first time i visit here. I found so many entertaining stuff in your blog, especially its discussion, I guess I am not the only one having all the enjoyment here! Keep up the good work.
Jason- I love your work. I'd love to interview you for my podcast. :)
