  3. Disembodied voices are ghostly, true, but listening to someone you admire from the past is fascinating too.

    I'm very sorry no record of Orwell's voice exists, despite the fact that he spent the whole WW2 doing radio broadcasts...

    Same with photographs. If I had a time machine, first I'd shoot Hitler, then I'd become a time-photojournalist, taking pictures of all kinds of interesting people from the time before photography was invented...

    That's a very cute tattoo, by the way.

  4. I consider the writers of Orwell's generation the lucky ones. They didn't have to do all the interviews and pr stuff. Their books are still there, maybe even their diaries or letters. What more do you need?
