Just discovered this band. Or duo. I had heard the name before and seen them in Coffee & Cigarettes, even listened to the Jack White interview on WTF with Marc Maron, but until now never heard their music. Then I watched the Fell in Love With a Girl video.
I love the old DVD “Director's Series, Vol. 3 - The work of director Michel Gondry” with all this videos and more stuff. By the way, do you know the series “Kidding”, which was also directed by him and is wonderful, unfortunately it ended after only 2 seasons.

DeleteI discovered them with White Blood Cells, and that remains my favorite album.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like it's easier to enjoy an artist's whole career when you encounter them later, compared to following them in real-time, one release at a time. The changes can be off-putting. (Like Elephant wasn't as good for me, etc.) I find it easier to go earlier or backwards in time.
That's a good point. I've ordered White Blood Cells, De Stijl and Elephant on cd. I might look into his other bands and solo stuff, but something seems to be lacking without Meg on drums. There was that extra charm and magical quality.
